Excellent. The rifle retains approximately 90% of the bright original high polish blue. The barrel, magazine and forearm cap have nearly all of the original blue finish. Wear is limited to several small scratches on the underside of the barrel near the muzzle. The receiver has handling wear on the contact points on the upper and lower edges and the finish on the left side of the receiver is thin. There is some light surface rust on the trigger. The hammer and loading lever have 60% or more of the original case colors. The case colors on the buttplate have faded to a silver patina. The stock and forearm are both in excellent condition with most of the original varnish finish; the checkered panels on the stock and forearm have some light handling wear. This is an exceptional example of an early production take-down M1894 Winchester Fancy Sporting Rifle with numerous special order features.
