Scarce Weimar Era Imperial German Navy/Nazi Navy Rework Luger Rig

This is a scarce post WWI-Weimar Navy issue Luger as produced under the Treaty of Versailles in the mid to late 1920s. These were original WWI Military and Navy Lugers that were reworked during the Weimar era and then reissued to the Imperial Navy. These utilized some original WWI parts mixed with some newly manufactured DWM parts. The top of the chamber area was restamped, "1920" indicating that it was verified as being issued by the Reichswehr with the "DWM" logo on the first toggle assembly. The left side of the barrel extension still retains the single Naval "Crown" firing proof next to the double "Crown/M" Naval acceptance proofs. The barrel is numbered with only the serial number "5128" and has the shorter length (vs. the 6 inch length) both indicating it was replaced under the Weimar era, as required by the Treaty of Versailles. The Luger has standard extractor and safety markings, with the front grip strap correctly marked: "O.3097" indicating issue to the Eastern Sea Fleet. The Luger has one original WWI type nickel plate magazine with a wooden base that is stamped: "2428/b". It is complete with an early 1933/34 era German Navy marked brown leather holster. The front of the holster is stamped with a second Imperial Navy property mark of: "O.1144" next to "GUSTAV REINHARDT/BERLIN", over what appears to be the tops of the date 1918. the lower portion of the numbers have been removed and directly below that it has been stamped with a single early Nazi "WaA18" Waffenamt. The back side of the holster is stamped with a single larger Navy "M/Anchor" proof. Inside the holster flap it still retains the correct 1933/34 type short cleaning rod and leather retaining flap.

Very fine with 90% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish overall, with even blue loss on the edges and high spots overall. The various small parts retain 50% of the straw colors. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in fine condition with a nice dark brown color overall with nice clear sharp markings and proofs with nice tight stitching showing minor handling marks overall.
