Scarce Warner Open Frame Automatic Revolving Type Percussion Carbine
Manufactured by the Springfield Arms Company. Silver blade front and notch rear sights, with a brass tipped Warner type loading lever. Iron frame, with engraved flag and shield designs on both sides and "WARNER'S PATENT / JAN. 1851" in a banner on the right. Smooth straight grip stock, with a filed groove on the right hand side of the wrist, a wire inserted into the groove, proper style shadow line cheekpiece and a steel carbine buttplate. Although serial numbers on existing specimens indicate that almost 250 were made, very few are known.

Condition: Fair, with areas of smooth gray patina and a smooth dark patina. There is some minor pitting concentrated on the barrel, along with minor flash pitting. Stock is very good with some chipping and a few cracks along the grain near the underside and some minor dings and scratches overall. The buttplate is slightly loose. Mechanically needs work, action doesn't function.
