These were produced in two separate serial number blocks, with this one being in the second block that has the five digit serial number along with the Series 6 marks. The top of the receiver has the intact Chrysanthemum mark over the Kanji markings for type 38. the left side has the series 6 marks, serial number (42952) and the Mukden Arsenal factory mark. It is fitted with the distinctive Mukden Arsenal, short carbine peep rear sight with the fixed inverted "V" front sight. It has the original hardwood stock and handguard, with the side mounted sling swivel and smooth steel buttplate with no trap-door. It has the blued metal parts, bright polished bolt with straw colored small parts.
