Scarce U.S. Springfield Armory Hoffer-Thompson .22 Caliber Model 1903 Bolt Action Gallery Practice Rifle

Manufactured in 1913. The barrel is marked "S A/flaming bomb/4- 13". Springfield Armory Model 1903 Hoffer-Thompson Gallery Practice rifles are almost identical to .30 caliber Model 1903 rifles with the exception of the .22 caliber barrel. Springfield Armory manufactured 15,525 Hoffer-Thompson Gallery Practice rifles between 1907 and 1918. Smooth walnut straight grip stock with grasping grooves, one reinforcing bolt, circled "P" proof on wrist and a smooth steel buttplate. This example does not have the copper-colored firing pin spring found on most Gallery Practice rifles.

Very good, 25% of the original blue finish remains with some scratches, dings and high edge wear. The replacement stock is very good as sanded without a visible cartouche and has scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
