Scarce U.S. Simeon North Model 1826 Navy Flintlock Pistol
One of 3000 manufactured circa 1826 - 1829. Blade and groove sights, with "U.S./ AH/ P" marked in the breech area, single barrel band and a swiveling ramrod. The lock plate is rounded at the rear, beveled forward of the hammer and fitted with an un-fenced, detachable brass flash pan, with "1827" behind the hammer and "U.S./ S. NORTH" ahead. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a belt hook on the left side next to the faint inspector cartouche and an iron buttcap.

Condition: Very good, with a smooth gray finish overall, showing some very faint age discoloration on the surface of the barrel and minor pitting around the flash-hole. Stock is also very good as repaired, with a mended crack running from the left side of the guard to the breech, along with some light pressure dents, a few tiny cracks and chips and attractive grain. Mechanically very fine.
