Scarce U.S. Simeon North Model 1811 Martial Flintlock Pistol

Estimate: $6500 - 9500
Manufactured from 1811 to 1813. Only 2000 of these pistols were manufactured and of that number many were subjected to the "Transitional Model" alteration (mounting a split barrel band similar to the North Model 1913 pistol) or converted to percussion. The left side of the barrel is stamped "US/(eagle)/CT/V", an eagle over "U.STATES." on the lock below the brass flashpan, and "S.NORTH/BERLIN/CONN" to the rear of the hammer. Smooth pistol grip stock with a wooden ramrod and brass furniture. "V/CW" stamped on the left side and a bird's head butt.
