Manufactured circa 1841 to 1842 with 4,213 rifles produced as truly a percussion rifle, and not a conversion. The breechblock is marked "H. FERRY/US/1841". The breechblock pivots upward for loading and is released by a lever device protruding through the bottom of the stock forward of the trigger guard. Sling swivels are present on the mid-barrel band and on the trigger guard. Mounted on a full length stock with three pin fastened barrel bands and a flat iron buttplate. Comes with a button head iron ramrod.

Condition: Very good plus. The rifle has a crisp dark brown with some minor spotting. The stock is fine with crisp edges and some feathered grain remaining with a few minor pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
