Scarce U.S. Colt Model 1861 Percussion Revolver
Produced in 1862 under military contract and subsequently restored in the late 20th century. Brass blade and hammer notch sights, with the Colt single line New York address on the top of the barrel and naval battle scene roll-engraved on the cylinder. The left side of the frame is marked: "COLT'S/PATENT" in two lines. Matching numbers on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder pin and cylinder. Several of the parts are marked with single letter inspection proofs and the stocks are one piece smooth walnut with a faint "JT" cartouche.

Condition: Near mint as professionally restored, with 98% of the current blue finish, showing some light scratches and handling marks. Mild dings on the cylinder. Bright colors are visible on the casehardened parts, strongest on the hammer, with some mild fading on the edges. Mixed brass patina. Wood is fine, with some light pressure dents and a sharp restamped cartouche. Mechanically excellent. Martially inspected Colt Model 1861's are difficult to find in any condition!
