Scarce Swiss K-31/1943 Straight Pull Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Scope

Introduced in 1944, this variant of the Schmidt-Rubin Rifle integrates a 2.8x80 scope with a unique periscope head, which lays against the stock for storage and transport, swiveling up for use. Similar in function to the Nazi ZF-41 "shooter's aid", this compact scope would boost an already talented shooter's hit rate at medium ranges, with the added benefit of the sniper being more difficult to differentiate from a simple rifleman by his enemies. Blade and tangent sights, with the Swiss Cross on top of the receiver, matching magazine and a matching bolt with cocking ring and barrel knob grip. The scope is fitted with a "tangent" style elevation adjustment lever, and marked "V=2.8 (field of vision symbol)= 80 0/00" along the upper left side. Smooth pistol grip stock with forearm grasping grooves, a brown leather sling and a smooth flat buttplate.

Excellent, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing a few areas of gray patina and scattered handling marks. The stock is very good, with some light pressure dents and varnish loss. The optics are slightly hazy, with mild wear on the tube. Mechanically excellent.
