Scarce Smith & Wesson Mark I Light Rifle with Sling with Rare Magazine
Designed by Smith & Wesson for military trials, the Mark I Light Rifle was passed over for the M1 Carbine. Due to the low production, and the destruction of many of the rifles during and after testing, only approximately 130 remain in the US. Blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights, with the two line Smith & Wesson address on the left side of the receiver and the patent dates on the right side below the cocking knob. Fitted with a fluted barrel and the distinctive magazine housing/ long ejector port. Smooth plastic pistol grip buttstock, with a ribbed steel buttplate and a brown leather sling.
