Manufactured circa 1907 to 1940. This example fitted with the rare factory 1 1/2 inch barrel. The included factory letter confirms the barrel length and nickel finish. The revolver was shipped on April 27, 1927 and delivered to the Sterling Hardware Co. of Bluefield, West Virginia, one of S&W's distributors at that time. Factory records indicate that there were four of these revolvers with the 1 1/2 inch barrel and nickel finish in the shipment. Matching serial number on butt, cylinder, barrel and latch. The right side of the frame has the S&W trademark and "MADE IN U.S.A.". Fitted with a set of checkered S&W monogram embossed grips.

Excellent. The revolver retains 90% original nickel finish showing some minor flaking. The trigger guard retains 97% plus of the original blue finish and the trigger retains half of the original case colors. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
