Scarce Simson & Co. Luger Pistol
This is an excellent example of an early post WWI Weimar era undated luger pistol that was reworked by the Simson and Co., in Suhl Germany. These early undated lugers in most cases were actually WWI DWM and Erfurt contract lugers that were completely refurbished or rebuilt by the Simson and Suhl company in the 1923-1930 time frame. This specific pistol has the undated chamber area with the rear toggle link marked "SIMSON & Co./SUHL" the right side of the barrel extension has the small Eagle 6 proof of the Simson Company along with the small Eagle/33 proof (which was actually a hardness test) along with the small Simson & Co. eagle final acceptance and firing proof. It has the military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the major components with the last two digits on the small parts with the Eagle/6 rework proof on many of the small parts. It has the standard safety and extractor markings along with the standard checkered walnut grips. It has the all rust blued metal finish with straw color on the small parts. It is complete with a correct "eagle/ 6" marked Simson magazine, nickel plated with aluminum base marked "1/254".
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 2134
Condition: Very fine with 85% plus of the faded original blue finish with some slight wear and thinning on the edges and high spots overall, the left side of the front sight base, the left side of the barrel, the front edges of the frame rails and the side plate edges and hump. The grips are in fine condition overall with honest wear on the checkering, with a few minor pressure dents. The small parts retain 30% of their straw colors overall. The pistol has all matching numbers except for the magazine which is marked as noted above. A very nice example of a scarce Simson and Co. Luger pistol.
