Scarce Simson & Co. Luger Pistol
This is an excellent example of a early post WWI Weimar era undated Luger pistol that was manufactured by the Simson and Co., in Suhl Germany. This specific pistol has the undated chamber area with the rear toggle link marked "SIMSON & Co./SUHL." the right side of the barrel extension has the small Eagle 6 proof of the Simson Company along with the small Eagle/33 proof (which was actually a hardness test) along with the small Simson & Co. Eagle final acceptance/firing proofs. It has the military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the major components with the last two digits on the small parts with the Eagle/6 rework proof on many of the small parts. It has the standard safety and extractor markings along with the standard checkered walnut grips. It has the all rust blued, metal finish with straw color on the small parts. It is complete with a nickel plated aluminum based magazine.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 4939
Condition: Excellent overall with 90% plus of the original blue finish with some slight wear and thinning on the grip straps, the edges and high spots, the left side of the front sight base, the front edges of the frame rails and the side plate hump. The grips are very fine overall with showing even wear on the checkering, and along the back edges of the grips, with a few minor pressure dents.
