Scarce Smith & Wesson Post-War Commercial Model 1917 Double Action Revolver, #210076, .45 ACP cal., 5-1/2'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered diamond walnut grips with bright S&W medallions, and lanyard loop in butt. Considered scarce with approx. 991 mfg'd as parts clean-up from surplus WWI revolvers. Shipped from the factory August 23, 1946, to Padgett Bros., Dallas, TX, with factory letter verifying features. According to Roy Jinks, this is one of the rarest variations of this model. Condition is excellent with minor thinning at muzzle, standard index line to cylinder, and thinning at front of flutes. Grip appears to have a small repair just below the medallion of the left panel (detracts little). Action is crisp, bore is bright. Est.: $2,500-$3,500. (C&R)
