Scarce Remington-Rider New Model Double Action Belt Percussion Revolver with Fluted Cylinder, #413, .36 cal., 6.5" octagon barrel, gray patina, brass trigger guard, smooth two-piece walnut grips, cone front sight, and fixed "V"-notch rear sight. Matching visible numbers on 6-shot fluted cylinder, left side of the grip frame, and underside of the barrel. Barrel address is marked in two-lines "MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y./RIDERS. PT. AUG. 17, 1858. MAY 3, 1859." Scarce with the matching fluted cylinder as it is believed that only a few hundred were produced circa 1863-1865. Revolver is in good condition, displaying a smooth gray patina mixed with mild brown toning. Trigger guard is uncleaned, showing moderate toning. Factory lettering is legible. Grips show moderate age and handling wear, with most of the rich oil finish remaining. Action is crisp. Bore with scattered areas of light erosion, rifling is very good. Est.: $1,500-$2,000.
