Scarce Remington Arms Co. No. 7 Rolling Block Rifle

Approximately 1,000 of this model were manufactured between 1903 and 1911. This example has a brass beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight in a dovetail on the barrel. The tang sight is absent. The top of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON ARMS Co. ILION, N.Y.U.S.A.", the bottom of the barrel in front of the forearm is marked "25-10" and under the forearm is the matching serial number "300007". Having a serial number this high could mean that production started at serial number 300,000. Mounted on a multi-point checkered walnut forearm with ebony inlay and a Schnabel tip along with a pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and checkered hard rubber buttplate.

Very fine, the blue components retain 78% of the slightly faded original blue finish with some high edge and muzzle wear along with some scattered minor scratches and dings. The casehardened components retain 30% of the original bright case colors with a mostly silvery gray patina on the balance. There are some scattered freckles of discoloration/minor oxidation. The wood is fine with scattered scratches, dents and wear. Mechanically excellent.
