Scarce Pre-World War II 1939 Dated Polish Eagle VIS-35 Radom Pistol with Polish Resistance Made Holster

This is a very fine example of a prewar Polish Radom Model 1935 pistol, that is accompanied by a field made leather holster that has a small handwritten note inside listing this a "Polish Resistance" holster. The note also states that this holster was smuggled back after WWII in a returning GI's duffle bag and lists his name and address. These early pistol is easily identified by the Polish Eagle and "1939" date on the side of the slide. This is a late 1939 production pistol, as the 1939 production serial numbers ended at approximately 49400. This pistol has the correct three levers; decocking lever, slide stop and takedown lever on the left side of the slide and frame. The rear of the frame is milled for the shoulder stock slot (not included). The left side of the slide is marked "F.B. RADOM / 1939r" followed by the Polish Eagle and "VIS-wz.35 / pat. Nr.15567". The frame is serial numbered "47715" and the barrel is numbered "0053" and the slide is numbered "30759", and it has later field replaced grip safety and slide stop lever. The pistol is fitted with the correct "VIS" and "FB" marked grips, and includes one wartime magazine. The holster is clearly a period made holster that is unmarked, made from a heavy leather material and correctly sewn for the WWII time frame.

Fine with 70% of the faded blued finish overall with the grip safety and slide stop lever having no finish. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering showing minor handling marks. The holster is in very fine condition with tight stitching overall with the lower back side of the snap having pulled loose. The magazine is in poor condition showing heavy pitting on several areas that has been polished to improve the finish.
