Scarce Pre-World War II 1934 Production Mauser "K-Date" S/42 Code Nazi P.08 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is a fine example of a scarce original 1934 Mauser production, "K" date "S/42" code military Luger pistol. The "K Date" P.08 Lugers were manufactured in 1934 and were the first pistols to use the secret letter date markings that were intended to conceal Germany's rearmament in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. These early K-date Luger P.08 pistols have an extremely low survival rate as almost all saw extensive service use on the Eastern front with original examples being among the most desirable Nazi Luger pistols. This example is classified as a Sub-Variation 3 that has the mixed script and gothic markings. There were only 10,930 total "K" date lugers manufactured and only 3,850 were manufactured in the 5200-9100 serial number range. This example has the standard Script "K" date mark on the chamber area with the Gothic "S" in S/42 markings on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the boxed "B/90 and S/91" acceptance stamps with a single Eagle firing proof. The major components are all stamped with serial number "7352" with the last two digits on the smaller parts, and the Script "S" mark also on the various smaller parts. This Luger is fitted with a set of standard walnut grips. The pistol is complete with one original Type 1 nickel plated Army magazine with the aluminum base, that is stamped "1662/a/B90" acceptance proof.

Manufucture: Mauser
Model: P08
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 7352

Fine with 60% of the faded original blue finish overall, with heavier wear on the edges and high spots, with a gray patina/oxidation on the grip straps. The grips are fine with nice original checkering, with light wear across the tops of the checkering and some minor light nicks. Mechanically excellent.
