Manufacturer: Fabrique Nationale Model: 1935
This is an excellent example of an early pre-war Belgian High Power pistol that is complete with the pre-war flat board shoulder stock and combination military style leather stock/pistol holster. These pistols were manufactured by Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgium, prior to the start of any hostilities in Europe. This version is correctly fitted with the larger tangent rear sight that is graduated from 50-500 meters, with the fixed inverted "V" front sight, that is correctly slotted on the rear grip strap for the walnut shoulder stock. The left side of the slide is marked with "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE DUERRE/HERSTAL BELGIQUE/BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE", over the various FN Liege factory proofmarks on slide, frame and trigger guard bow. The right side of the pistol is marked with the matching (stacked) serial numbers "24617" on the barrel, slide and frame and the barrel also has the correct FN factory proofmarks on the right side of the chamber. It is fitted with the round commander style hammer and checkered walnut grips. The shoulder stock that accompanies this lot is a correct original pre-war style that is the early flat version vs. the later Canadian hollowed-out wartime version. The right side of the stock is numbered "27388" (non-matching to this pistol) and has a single carrying loop on the left side. The stock is correctly drilled with three holes where the original factory commercial style short holster would have been originally fitted to the stock, while this lot has the very rare large combination military leather holster that houses both the pistol and the flat board shoulder stock. The holster itself has a single boxed "AC. 39" military proof on the front with a larger "Cross/M" proof on the pull strap. It has the large double brass rings on the back for the shoulder strap (which is missing) with the double belt loops. The lot includes one original unnumbered pre-war High Power magazine and the cleaning rod.

Excellent with 95% plus of the original blue finish showing minor edge and high spot wear with minor handling marks and thinning on the grip straps. The board stock is very fine with a nice light color overall showing a nice original Belgium proof on the left side with a good visible number on the right side. The holster is near excellent with a nice dark brown color overall with tight stitching showing only minor handling marks. The proofs on the front are clear and distinct. As noted this pistol has all matching numbers except the walnut board stock.
