This revolver is one of only approximately 1,479 revolvers that were produced with the long flute cylinders. Manufactured in 1914, features the one line Hartford address on top of the barrel with the caliber marking: "45 Colt" on the right side. The serial number "330718" is marked on the frame, trigger guard and rear grip strap. The frame is also marked with the two line, three date patent information followed by an encircled Rampant Colt on the left side. The hammer well is marked with a "P" above the striker hole. The left side of the trigger guard has the Colt Verified Proof on the front bow with a number "1" on the rear. The loading gate is marked with "712" as is the right rear of the frame just below where rear grip strap is secured to the frame. Fitted with smooth wood grips, the inside of each panel is marked "330718". The included factory letter confirms the caliber, barrel length, finish, wood grips and the shipment of the revolver to a P.S. Rigg, address unavailable, on the 10th of January, 1914. No mention is made of the long flute cylinder, but writer believes it to be correct. No research has been done on P.S. Rigg.

Excellent. The barrel retains 95% of the bright original blue finish with thinning on the left side towards the muzzle and along the outer edge of the ejector rod housing. The frame shows some traces of vivid case colors with the remainder aged to a smooth gray/brown patina. The cylinder retains 90% of the original blue finish with moderate edge wear and thinning overall. The grip straps and trigger guard retain 97% original blue finish with some minor thinning and scratches. All markings are clear. The replacement grips are excellent with only a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
