Manufactured in 1939. This pistol is 1 of only 3,636 Colt Model 1911A1 pistol produced in 1939. All were shipped to the U.S. Navy Supply depot in Sewalls Point, Virginia in 4 orders, with this pistol shipped in the first block as one of 520 on November 16, 1939. The left side of the slide is marked with the two block 1897-1913 patent dates and address with the Rampant Colt in the center. The left side of the frame is marked with a "P" inspection mark above the magazine release and "H" below it. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY / No.713809" behind the slide stop hole and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" in front of the hole. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked "P" over the Colt "VP" triangle proof and "60" on the opposite. The top of the slide ahead of the rear sight is marked with a "P". Checkered trigger, slide stop, thumb safety, wide spur hammer and arched main spring housing, lanyard loop on the frame heel, blue magazine, two tone magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips.
