Scarce Post WWI DWM 1920/1916 "Double Date" Navy Marked Artillery Luger Rig

This is a scarce example of a early post WWI Weimar era Imperial Navy Property marked Artillery Luger pistol with Navy marked Artillery holster. The top of the chamber has the double dates of "1920/1916". The front toggle still has the "DWM" monogram with a very small "Eagle/O" Navy proof on the left side of the barrel and barrel extension. Additionally the front grip strap also carries the Imperial Navy property mark of "O.2009" which was lined out and remarked with "O.91". The various parts retain original Imperial "Crown/Script" letter proof marks with the Imperial eagle firing proof. Standard German safety and extractor markings, fine tune front sight and fine tune Artillery type rear sight marked 1-8 (100-800 meters). Correct WWI type nickel plated magazine with the wooden base that is stamped "Crown/Script letter/8337/a/+/Crown". Complete with an original WWI Artillery holster converted into a belt type holster marked with a Weimar Navy proof. The inside flap of the holster is stamped "GULLMANN & WALTER/HILDSHEIM/1915" and as noted is stamped on the front of the flap: "O.16". The stock loop on the back has been removed, a single belt loop sewn on, as well as a spare magazine pouch sewn to the side of the holster.

Manufucture: DWM
Model: 1914 Artillery
BBL: 8 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 7789a

Very good with 50% of the faded arsenal refurbished blue finish with overall wear and minor spots of light corrosion and pitting on the side. The various small parts retain traces of their straw colors. The grips are good showing even wear with light handling marks. The holster is good with a nice dark brown color overall and clear distinct markings on the inside. The spare magazine pouch was somewhat crudely added and has some thread coming loose on the bottom, still a scarce converted Navy marked Artillery holster.
