Manufactured in the mid 1860s, its estimated that only 350 of this model were produced. The top of the barrel rib is marked "PLANT'S MFG. Co NEW HAVEN CT.", the left side of the frame ahead of the cylinder is marked "M&B / N.Y." and the cylinder is marked the same as the barrel rib. The unique design of these revolvers featured a combination of front loading and interchangeable cylinders allowing for firing a metallic cartridges or muzzle loading percussion. All blue finish and fitted with smooth varnished two piece rosewood grips.

Condition: Very good plus. The revolver retains 20% original blue finish concentrated mainly on the barrel and cylinder mixed with smooth brown patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth brown patina with strong original blue finish in the protected area of the ejector housing. The grips are also fine with most of the varnish remaining, a few dings on the bottom, minor chips and wear on the lower edges and a few overall minor dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
