Scarce Nazi Navy Marked Mauser Model 1934 Semi-Automatic Pistol
Similar to the Model 1910 and 1914 and manufactured from 1934 to 1939. This pistol is marked with the large German Navy eagle with swastika over "M" on right side of the frame. No property number is present on front grip strap and is identified as a Variation 4 Nazi Navy Model 1934 and is listed by serial number on page 172 of "Axis Pistols" volume II by Jan Still. The left side of the slide is marked with the serial number in a panel at the front and "MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A.N." toward the rear with a small partial "Eagle N" proof directly behind the rear sight. The left side of the frame is marked with the Mauser logo. The right side of the slide is marked "CAL. 7, 65 D.R.P.u.A.P." and the frame (bottom of side plate next to the trigger and back of the frame marked "791"), and slide have matching numbers. The markings are highlighted in white. The grips are one piece checkered walnut.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 95% original finish with wear on the muzzle, muzzle end of the slide, trigger guard and high edges, and thinning on the front strap. There is some minor pitting on the slide and there are a few minor dings on the underside of the frame. The grip is very good, the checkering has had some freshening some time ago and there is overall moderate wear and light handling marks. The action needs work, the rear portion of the firing pin is absent and the action does not function. The markings remain crisp and clear.
