Manufacturer: Vickers Ltd Model: 1906 Luger
This is a scarce Luger variation that was produced by the Vickers Ltd. Company in England for the Netherlands. These were produced in the 1915-17 time frame when hostilities broke out between the Germans and Dutch. There were approximately 10,000 made in the serial number range of 1-10,100 with the highest documented serial number being 10,061, consequently making this an extremely late production/presentation model. Regardless these lugers are very rare today as they saw considerable use in the Far East and usually they are in terrible condition. Almost all were arsenal refurbished during the 1925-1933 time frame, and that does not detract from the value of these rare Lugers. This Luger has a blank chamber area with the front toggle link stamped "VICKERS/LTD" in two lines. The left side of the barrel extension is stamped with the "Crown/W" Dutch Wilhelmina proof and both sides of the extractor are marked: "GELADEN" with the safety area marked "RUST". The top of the barrel is marked with the date "1928" just forward of the chamber indicating the year the pistol was refurbished by the Dutch and the underside of the barrel is stamped with "Crown/V", and Crown/GP" proofs. The top of the front and rear toggle assembly, and breechblock, also all have the "Crown/V" proof. The correct/traditional brass plate is correctly soldered to the left side of the frame that has been stamped "GB-2 W-6/ 11". Since this is a 1906 style pistol it has the grip safety with no stock lug and was manufactured with the hold open device. It is fitted with the correct coarse checkered walnut grips, with each one marked on the back side with "8703/GS". It is complete with a correct, style magazine that has the nickel plated body and is fitted with an unmarked wooden base.

Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger

Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 11731
Condition:
Fine condition overall with 75% of the arsenal refurbished blue remaining with wear on the edges and high spots with some oxidation and blue loss on the grip straps. The grips are in fair condition with moderately worn checkering, showing wear across the tops of the checkering with minor handling marks and nicks in various areas, with a large crack present on the upper right grip. Mechanically functions, but has a weak toggle return spring. This scarce very late production Luger pistol has matching numbers except the grips and magazine as noted above.
