Scarce Maynard Model 1882 Number 16 Single Shot Rifle with Two Extra Barrels
This three barrel set includes the following part octagon barrels: a 28 inch long, 25 caliber barrel, a 26 inch long 36 caliber barrel and a 26 inch long 22 caliber barrel, each with a checkered Schnabel forearm, with the 36 caliber barrel having a diamond pattern. Sporting rear sights are fitted on the 36 and 22 caliber barrels, no rear sight on the 25 caliber barrel. The 22 caliber barrel is fitted with an adjustable hooded pin front sight. The frame, lever and Swiss buttplate are nickel finished, with the frame marked with the four line patent dates on the left and the three line address on the right. Equipped with an adjustable tang peep sight marked with May 1887 and January 1876 patent dates. Mounted with a checkered highly figured walnut pistol grip stock. Action is fitted with a Hadley Rimfire Conversion Device.

Condition: Very fine. All barrels show 90% or better original blue finish, with areas of gray and brown patina and minor scratches. The rifle retains approximately 95% of the frosted original nickel finish with some moderate flaking. Stock is fine as repaired, with a crack through the pistol grip, moderate gashes and some minor dings and scratches. Markings are legible, but weak. Mechanically very good.
