The lock plate is stamped "SPRINGFIELD" behind the hammer and an eagle above "US" ahead of the hammer. The top of the barrel is stamped "US" with the left side having "P/eagle head/V" proofs. The action has a removable flashpan. It has has iron furniture with the buttplate tang stamped "1802". The military stock with three barrel bands are stamped with the letter "N" behind the trigger guard. The Model 1795 Musket represents many firsts in U.S. martial arms including the first standardized and official model of musket manufactured for the U.S. government. Comes with a powder horn.

Condition: Very good. The musket has an untouched dark mottled patina showing an area of minor pitting on the rear of the lock. The stock is fine with "MARVT AND" marked on the forearm (right side), some chipping, a couple small hairline cracks and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
