Scarce Variation Martini-Henry Single Shot Rolling Block Rifle, #66961, .577-450 cal., 33.2'' barrel marked with early address ''W.H. Tisdall, 47 Whittall St., Birmingham'' (which we have observed on some .577 Snider conversions); barrel at right side of breech marked ''(crown)/1/B-1932'', and various Birmingham proofs at left; appears to be finished in the white, with full-length forend and somewhat select walnut buttstock. Cocking indicator is omitted, with large dome-head rivet device in its place; rear musket-type sight shows three platina blades in elevator making for a superior sight picture. Most Tisdall marked rifles show the 40 Digby Street address, which we believe to be later, as they are never seen on Sniders. Condition is good to very good with light to moderate darkening to metal surfaces and mild corrosion to frame. Some screws have been replaced. Stock shows scuffs and scratches with general darkening near metal surfaces. Action is smooth, bore is s!
omewhat dark but with well-defined lands and grooves. Cleaning rod is missing. Est.: $400-$600.
