Scarce Marlin Model 1887 DA revolver, .38 cal., deluxe period scroll engraved, nickel plated, ivory grips, #6616. This gun is in overall fine condition showing approx. 85% original nickel with most of the loss on the cylinder, some light erosion just starting and some drifting to natural metal color; ivory grips are very good+ with a lovely patina; the hammer and trigger show considerable case color and the trigger guard shows most of its blue; crisp edges, sharp markings, good action, very good bore. The engraving is more deluxe than normally found with profusely engraved cylinder. Previously in a prominent San Diego collector’s 50 year estate. Est.: $2,400-$2,800.
