This is a scarce late WWII production/assembled "41/42" code Krieghoff Luger pistol rig with the scarce "Ku" markings in front of the serial number on the barrel extension. These are a fairly scarce luger variation, with only a few thousand actually produced. These lugers have been identified as a late 1944 Luftwaffe contract Luger that was assembled by Krieghoff & Sohns using left over, or out of tolerance parts from the Mauser factory. These lugers have the "41" marked chamber area with the "42" code for the Mauser factory on the first toggle. As noted above this pistol will have the distinctive Mauser factory parts with no German Army proofs, with this example stamped with the late war Luftwaffe "LZA" proof on the right side of the barrel extension and left side of the barrel, with no other proofs. Both magazines are the late type three versions with the blued "fxo/Eagle 37" marked magazine bodies with pinned aluminum bases that are marked on the base with the same Luftwaffe "LZA" proof mark above the serial number "3285" on each base with no other proofs. It is fitted with a set of late war walnut grips, with the full serial number and single "Eagle/655" proof on the back side of each grip. This excellent pistol is complete with a custom, red velvet, lined display case. The case has six compartments, for the pistol, spare magazine, ammunition block, as well as other accessories. This lot includes a picture of a German Navy Coastal Flying Boat (seaplane) and a German Wehrmacht hat badge.
