Scarce Late World War II Inland Division M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine

This example was manufactured in Jan 1944. It has the standard front and rear receiver markings. The barrel is stamped "INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/1-44". It has the standard front sight stamped with the letter "N" with two position flip rear sight marked with a small letter "S" on the side of the rear sight. It has the various WWII parts such as the flat blued bolt, type one barrel band without the bayonet lug, unmarked, parkerized push button safety, and a blued, magazine catch release button with a "W" stamped on the face of the catch. The carbine is fitted with a high wood style M1A1 paratrooper folding stock with an early two rivet handguard with a shallow sighting groove. The wire stock has the correct casting marks on the buttplate with a leather cheekpiece with brass rivets. The underside of the pistol grip is stamped "IO" with a small ordnance cross-cannon proof and no circled "P" proof on the rear of the grip. It is complete with an original early light green canvas sling with one 20 round magazine.

Excellent with 95% of the original parkerized finish on the various parts overall, showing wear on the high spots with finish loss on the receiver side rail. The stock and handguard are both in very fine condition overall with nice medium brown colored wood components with minor handling marks on the pistol grips and left side of the stock/handguard. Mechanically excellent.
