Scarce Key Variation Colt London Agency Shipped Colt Single Action Army Black Powder 45 Eley Revolve

Estimate: $4500 - 6500
The included Colt factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, blue finish, with the barrel length and stocks not listed. The revolver was shipped to Colt London Agency, London, England, on November 1, 1875 as part of a 50 gun shipment. The top of the barrel is stamped "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co HARTFORD, CT, U.S.A." and the left side of the frame is stamped with the two line, two patent dates marking. The caliber marking "45 CAL/B" is stamped on the left trigger guard shoulder. Two British proofs are stamped on the underside of the barrel and alternating British proofs appear on the cylinder between the chambers. Matching serial numbers on the cylinder, frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "205" on the loading gate. Also, of note, is the highly desirable German silver front sight. The revolver is fitted with a varnished one-piece walnut grip. It is estimated that only 1,150 revolvers were manufactured in this caliber with many being shipped to the Colt London Agency.
