Scarce Japanese TG&E Baby Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching Magazine Leather Clamshell Holster and Shoulder Strap

This is a rare example of a very late production Baby Nambu pistol that was manufactured by the Tokyo Gas and Electric (TG&E) factory in Tokyo. These pistols were produced from 1909 to approximately 1923 and is estimated that only about 550 pistols were ever produced by TG&E, with fewer than fifty known to date. The chamber bears the circled "TG&E" proof with the Kanji makings on the right side of the upper receiver over the serial number (6034). The matching serial number (6034) is also visible on the underside of the bolt, the cocking knob and the back side of each grip panel. This example has the very rarely encountered matching serial number on the striker or firing pin. The magazine is also matching and is numbered "6034" on the rear of the magazine body. As noted this rare pistol is complete with a reproduction clamshell leather holster and shoulder strap specifically designed for this pistol. They actually appear to be a small version of the later Type 14 Nambu pistol holster. Originally these pistols had a high quality rust blue finish, with straw colored small parts with the bolt retaining an overall bright finish. The magazine has a nickel-plated body with an extruded aluminum base. The grips are finely checkered hardwood.

Very good with traces of the blue finish still remaining overall with the balance mostly a dull browned out patina color. The grips are also in very good condition with worn visible checkering on both sides showing more wear across the tops of the checkering, but no cracks or damage. The reproduction holster and shoulder strap are both in very good condition with a nice, all original medium brown color overall, with light wear and scuffing from actual field use with tight stitches and loops. As noted, this rare Japanese pistol has all matching numbers to include the one magazine.
