Scarce Japanese "Paratrooper" Bayonet with Sheath and Frog

Produced for issue with the Type 100 Sub-Machine Gun and Type 2 Paratrooper Rifle, the Paratrooper Bayonet follows the overall pattern of the standard issue blades meant for the Type 38 and 99 Rifles, with changes to make the weapon more compact. Overall length is 12 1/4 inches, with a 7 3/4 inch single fuller blade. The top of the tang is stamped with the logo of the Toyada Automatic Loom Works next to the approval stamp of Nagoya Arsenal, with a pair of smooth wood grips installed and "1979" stamped on the butt. With a properly sized blue steel sheath and a rubberized canvas frog.

Excellent, with 90% original blue, some light pitting on the hilt, a strong blue finish overall, and some light dents on the grips. The blade retains 98% original blue. The fine rubberized canvas has stiffened with time, showing mild cracking and a torn section of the leather retention strap.
