Scarce James Warner Solid Frame Revolving Rifle
Produced circa 1850s, with less than 350 believed to have been made. This is an early produced specimen, made without provisions for a loading lever. Blade front and sporting rear sights, with a wood ramrod along the underside. The top strap is marked "JAMES WARNER. SPRINGFIELD, MASS.", with "WARNERS / PATENT" marked on the left side of the frame and a two line address and patent markings on the cylinder. Manually revolving cylinder, with the release lever inside the trigger guard. Finger rest trigger guard, smooth straight grip stock and a metal buttplate.

Condition: Very good, with a mixed smooth brown and gray patina and scattered minor spotting. The stock is fine with a barely noticeable hairline crack on upper right, some minor dings and scratches and some residue on the underside. Release lever doesn't properly lock, otherwise mechanically fine.
