Exceedingly rare President John F. Kennedy collectible. Original switchboard card from the Commodore Perry Hotel, where Kennedy was supposed to stay on the night of his 22 November 1963 assassination. Though Kennedy was assassinated hours before he would have checked into the hotel, the Secret Service had already set up the White House switchboard at the Commodore Perry. An extremely small number of access cards were given to the Secret Service and top Kennedy staffers; according to several top Kennedy experts, only two of these such cards are known to exist and even Kennedy's personal secretary Evelyn Lincoln never had one. Switchboard card reads, “There will be a White House Switchboard located at Room 419, Commodore Perry Hotel. To reach the White House Switchboard use the phones with the White House disk as shown on this card. These phones are located along the President's route of travel. To reach the White House board from an outside phone, dial GR 7-6317. There will be a comcenter for classified traffic available in Room 420, Commodore Perry Hotel.” A true rarity and must-have for any JKF collector. Fine condition.
