Scarce Iron Frame Merrimack Arms Southerner Derringer

Manufactured from 1866 to 1873 with a scarce casehardened iron frame. Found in the 1,950-4,500 serial number range are seen with much less frequency compared to its brass frame counterpart. The top barrel flat is marked "SOUTHERNER" with the left side featuring the three line address. The back of the grips are stamped with the number "4091" and the extractor and barrel have the number "11."

Fine. The barrel retains 90% of original blue finish otherwise faded to a smooth plum patina. The frame has mostly faded to a silver-gray with traces of the original case colors. The grips are very good with the left panel repaired, some chipping and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
