Report to A.G. of U.S. Army, from Headquarters, Department of California, 1891. 12mo in printed paper wraps; 28pp, (Exhibit A) 8pp, (Exhibit B) 11pp, (Exhibit C) 10pp, (Exhibit D) 8pp, (Exhibit E) 5pp, (Exhibit F) 6pp, (Exhibit G) 44pp, (Exhibit H) 44pp, (Exhibit I) 4pp, (Exhibit K) 12pp, (Exhibit L) 26pp, and (Exhibit M) 3pp. Exhibit D, the report of Capt. E.G. Fechet, 8th Cav., includes as footnotes Order No. 247 from E.C. Brooks, 8th Cav. at Fort Yates, ND, December 14, 1890, which begins: Captain E. G. Fechet, 8th Cavalry, will proceed with Troops F and G, 8th Cavalry, the Hotchkiss gun, and one Gattling gun to the crossing of Oak Creek by the Sitting Bull road, for the purpose of preventing the escape or rescue of Sitting Bull, should the Indian police succeed in arresting him. After reprinting the orders, Fechet lists "Casualties in Indian Police" and "Casualties Among Hostiles." The latter is a "who's who" of the Lakota: 1. Sitting Bull, killed. 2. Black Bird, killed. 3. Catch the Bear, killed. 4. Little Assiniboine, killed. 5. Crow Foot (Sitting Bull's son), killed. 6. Spotted Horn Bull, a chief, killed. 7. Brave Thunder, a chief, killed. 8. Chase Wounded, killed.
