The buttstock has a hard rubber grip cap with a raised wood cheekpiece.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 80% original blue finish. The receiver, lever and breechblock retain flashes of original case colors blended with a smooth silver-gray patina. The wood is fine with crazed finish on the buttstock, a few minor handling marks and a filled sling stud hole near the stock toe. The buttplate is missing. Overall the checkering is crisp. Mechanically fine. This rifle is worth taking the time to find a buttplate for as Paneled Action Borchardt Sharps rifles are extremely scarce!
