Scarce French Dumonthier Double Barrel Percussion Knife Pistol with Ivory Grip, Case and Accessories
Overall length is 14 1/2 inches, with a 9 inch spear point blade with single fullers, marked "DUMONTHIER/ BREVET Duv" on the left side. The pistol barrels rest in the fullers on either side of the blade, with no visible markers marks. Dual quillion guard, with the hammers doubling as the rear quillion, concealing the nipples, controlled by a single trigger which drops the hammers in sequence. Ivory grip panels with an attractive twist pattern, ending in a coin silver buttcap. Green felt lined metal sheath, with nickel finished throat and tip. In a green leatherette case with scroll designs on the lid and a French cut blue velvet interior, holding a pair of percussion nipples, a lidded compartment with ivory handle, silver capper marked "BOCHE/ BREVETE/ 4", single cavity mold with cutter and ramrod and a powder flask with horn body and German silver fittings.

Condition: Very good, with some mild spotting and handling marks on the bright steel. Grips are very good, with some mild age cracks, a small patch on the right panel, and attractive color and grain, strongest on the left panel. Sheath is fine, with minimal wear and spotting. Accessories are good, with some repairs to the flask, mixed wear on the mold and a fine patina on the capper. Case is fine, with mild external wear and some fading of the velvet. Mechanically very good.
