The bottom of the receiver just to the left of the lever is stamped with the number "26". Ramped blade front sight with a Redfield receiver mounted peep sight. The rear sight has been removed and a filler block installed. Mounted with a smooth forearm with a steel end cap and straight grip stock with a serrated steel buttplate.

Serial Number: 241
Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 90% original finish with some thinning and flaking on the barrel with a smooth gray patina on the exposed areas, some thinning on the bottom and high edge wear on the receiver. The wood is very fine with a few gouges in the finish and overall scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings remain crisp and clear. The mechanics are excellent. A nice example of a highly desirable, very early three digit serial number Model 53.
