Scarce First Year Production Colt New Line .32 Caliber Revolver with Two Digit Serial Number
Manufactured in 1873, the first year of production. The top of the barrel is marked "+COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.+". The serial number "20" is stamped on the butt. The barrel has the number "37" stamped on the left side at the breech end. Five shot short fluted cylinder with cylinder stops on the periphery. Blue with casehardened frame. Fitted with smooth bird head grips.

Very fine. The barrel and cylinder have 20-30% blue with the balance a smooth brown patina with strong traces of blue in the protected areas. The frame retains about 60-70% of the case color pattern, otherwise, the finish has faded to a smooth dark patina with a smooth gray patina on the grip strap. The slightly undersized grips are very fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
