Scarce Early World War II Nazi Mauser G-41 (M) Semi-Automatic Rifle with K98 Bayonet and Scabbard

This is a very good example of a scarce early WWII German G-41(M) rifle as manufactured by the Mauser factory. These rifles were produced in 1941/42, in response for the development of a semi-automatic rifle, that had to be charged in the style of the 98K bolt action rifle. These rifles use the standard 98K style bolt handle to initially cock the rifle, and then they function in a semi-automatic mode using the early barrel mounted, gas trap system to cycle the action. These are a very scarce rifle today, as they were produced in very small numbers and they were time consuming and complicated to manufacture because they have all machined parts and assemblies and were eventually replaced by the G41 and G/K43 series of rifles. Additionally they saw considerable use throughout the war, especially on the eastern front. The actual bolt is constructed in two pieces with a rotating bolt head with dual locking lugs, with a machined top cover, with the following machined parts: cylindrical receiver, trigger guard, barrel bands and box magazine as well as internal parts. The top of the receiver is marked: "Eagle 135/G-41(M)/1942". The serial number of the rifle is stamped on the left side of the receiver. The walnut stock is fitted with a cupped steel butt plate and short walnut top hand guard. It is complete with an original WWII leather sling and original matching K98 bayonet and scabbard. The bayonet is marked "42/cof".
