This Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver flask is the earliest and scarcest of the Colt Model 1851 flasks. It measures 7 inches long with the body having a brown lacquer finish. The design is a front face only. The design is a military motif which show cases the American and Texas flags with anchors, an artillery piece and a stack of balls. Below this design is crossed guns above a single revolver and at the base is "COLTS PATENT" in a band with an embossed star separating the two words. The nickel plated plunger is marked "24 GRS." Excellent. The body of the flask retains 90% original brown lacquer with a couple shallow dents. 95% of the silver plating on the plunger and body remains. A fantastic example of the rarest type of Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver flask that would enhance the most advanced Colt percussion collection.
