Scarce Early Post-World War I Undated Simson & Co. Weimar Era Army Luger Pistol with Holster and Two Matching Magazines

This is a very nice example of a early post-WWI Weimar era military Luger pistol as manufactured by the Simson and Co., in Suhl Germany. This pistol is the scarce undated chamber area that has the standard Simson & Co./Suhl marked front toggle. These were the first of the reworked Lugers by the Simson Company in the 1921-1925 time frame. These Simson Lugers are very unique in that the various parts all have the small "Eagle/6" rework/acceptance proof on almost all of them and in this example includes the front sight and grip screws. On this example the front grip strap is marked "A.S. 412." which has been lined out. It has the standard military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the major components with the last two digits on the small parts. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with two small "Eagle 6" Simson proofs, with a single "Eagle/33" proof, along with the single Simson & Co., Eagle firing proof. The left side of the barrel is stamped with a small double "Eagle 6" proof sometimes used to denote reworks, along with the final Simson Eagle firing proof. It has the standard safety and extractor markings along with the standard checkered walnut grips. This desirable Luger is complete with two early nickel plated unmarked magazines with the aluminum bases, which are stamped "Eagle/6/4254/Eagle 6 proof and Eagle/6/4254/+/Eagle 6 Proof". It is complete with an early all brown leather holster. Inside the flap it is marked "Lapezier. Msir./Munchen", and is accompanied by an original Simson Eagle/6Proofed takedown tool.

Manufucture: Simson & Company
Model: Luger
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 4254

Very good with 85% of the blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots, showing some areas of light pitting on both sides of the frame and above the right grip under the edge of the frame. The grips are good with nice checkering on both sides showing some dark oily areas on both sides. The right grip is warped and does not fit into the frame recess. The holster is fair with nice color that shows considerable age cracking on the face and lower area of the holster and on the magazine pouch, mixed with some light flaking of the leather overall. As noted this scarce Luger has all matching numbers to include both magazines.
