The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder, back strap, loading lever and cylinder pin. The wedge is numbered "284" (possibly an error at the factory). The left side of the barrel lug is marked with a "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proofmark. Fair. Partially refinished (the barrel and cylinder), which show much of the dark plum blue finish. There is heavy pitting under the finish on the muzzle end of the barrel, and some minor pitting and 50% of the scene visible on the cylinder. The lower right side of the frame shows most of the original case colors with a mottled gray patina on the balance as well as some minor pitting. The loading lever lug retains most of the original bright case colors with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. The brass components retain 20% age darkened silver plating with a natural aged patina on the balance. The revarnished grip is good with some wear on the lower edges, a small chip on the left toe, large chip on the right toe and scattered minor dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine
