Manufactured in 1884. The revolver features an all nickel finish with niter blue screw heads and factory engraving. The recoil shield and loading gate have a shell design, and the top and back straps have a simple decorative dot and zigzag design. The butt is inscribed "ABA" in script letters, (origin unknown at time of writing). The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, the left side of the frame has the three line, three patent dates and "45 CAL" is on the upper left front of the trigger guard. Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original nickel finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. Loss is due to flaking, high point and normal handling wear. The grips are excellent with only light handling marks. The markings are engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. A very fine example of a Documented Factory Engraved Black Powder Colt Single Action Army revolver.
