Scarce DWM Model 1908 1st Issue Unaltered Military Luger
This is a nice example of a desirable DWM Model 1908 Military 1st Issue Luger as produced by the DWM factory. These 1908 models were the first true production Lugers that all other military Lugers were to be patterned after. These Lugers were produced from 1908 through 1913 and were sold under both commercial and military contracts. This model of Luger can be distinguished from the later models, based on two notable features; 1) they were made without a hold-open catch and 2) they don't have a stock lug, (added in 1914). The top of the chamber area is blank with the rear toggle having the DWM logo markings. The right side of the barrel extension is blank and the left side has two crown over gothic letter and a firing proof. The left rear of the barrel and left side of the breech block are also marked with the firing proof. The complete matching serial number is on the front of the frame and bottom of the barrel with the last two numbers on takedown lever, side plate and rear toggle below the rear sight. The extractor and safety are marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" respectively. The front strap is regimental marked stamped "B.3.R.M.G.75.". The pistol has the correct magazine that is nickel plated with a wooden base with no markings. Fitted with checkered walnut grips.
