This is an extremely rare and very desirable 1906 DWM Commercial Luger that was marked with the French retailers name on top of the barrel. This was a very limited production, produced for the French Arms and Cycle Works These Lugers fall within the standard 1906 commercial contract lugers with the top of the barrel roll marked at the DWM. The top of the barrel is rolled marked; "Manufacture Francaise d' Armes & Cycles de. Saint-Etienne". The top of the front toggle is marked with the DWM logo with the left side of the barrel extension, and the left side of the breechblock correctly marked with the Commercial Crown over "B" and "U" proofs with the underside of the barrel is also marked with the Crown over "B", "U" and "G" proof. The front of the frame and underside of the barrel is stamped with the full serial number 47695, along with the bore diameter 172,28. It has the standard "GELADEN" marked extractor with the lower safety area correctly polished and unmarked. It is also correctly fitted with the grip safety, rapid taper barrel and no stock lug or hold open device. It has a rust blued finish with straw colored small parts such as the trigger, takedown lever, safety lever, ejector, magazine release button. It is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips and is complete with one nickel-plated magazine with wooden base.

Condition: Very fine with 75% of the much faded original blue finish overall with minor wear on the edges and high spots overall, with some blue loss on the front edges of the frame rails, the side plate hump and the left side of the muzzle area. The grip strap has blue finish with just a couple of spots of thinning blue mixed with some brown patina. The various small parts retain 50% of their straw colors. The grips are fine condition overall with sharp checkering. A very rare French retailers marked 1906 commercial contract Luger pistol.
